Univision announces scholarship fund

As part of Univision’s multi-platform education initiative, “Es El Momento” (The Moment is Now), Cesar Conde, President of Univision Networks, on Monday announced the company’s first-ever scholarship program, “Becas Univision” (Univision Scholarships).
The multi-year program, managed by the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, will award $300,000 to eligible Latino students in the United States beginning in 2012.
Joining Conde’s announcement were Raul Romero, Chairman of the Board of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Henry Cisneros, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and a member of Univision’s board, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
