Between 30 and 40 percent of Latinos don’t graduate from high school, prompting many to call this a crisis in education. To tackle the problem, the Intercultural Development Research Association in Texas created the Coca Cola Youth Valued Program in 1984, an innovative initiative to keep students in school.
