VIDEO: Latinos choose sides in Fla. GOP primary

With one day left to go before Floridians vote in the GOP presidential primary, we took to the streets of Miami to take the temperature of Latino voters.
Unlike other early primary states, Florida has a sizable Latino electorate which contains a significant amount of Republicans, who make up over 11 percent of all registered Republicans in the state. Florida Latinos are unlike any other Latino electorate in the country: whereas most Latino voters nationwide are Mexican-American, most in Florida are either Cuban-American or Puerto Rican. Mitt Romney is surging in Florida, partly driven by his ability to lock up the support of Florida Latino Republicans, he leads among likely voters by 26 percentage points over Newt Gingrich.
Looking past the Florida primary, the question remains whether Romney can be competitive among Latinos nationwide. He currently trails President Obama by 42 points, so it appears Romney will face a steep uphill climb.
