Watch this: Gloria Estefan’s new dance-heavy music video for “Hotel Nacional”

The original Queen of Latin Pop, Gloria Estefan, causes a dancing frenzy in “Hotel Nacional,” her newly released music video.
Helmed by acclaimed director Kenny Ortega, the 54-year-old hit-maker’s video premiered yesterday on Univision’s El Gordo y La Flaca and features energetic dance numbers, drag queens, and a special guest appearance by soap star Susan Lucci. Look closely and you will also notice Estefan’s teen daughter Emily playing the drums.
In the video, a leather-clad Estefan takes in a young couple after their car suffers a flat tire during a storm. Once inside, the couple is stripped from their clothing and joins the dancing crowd, as a chic-looking Estefan leads the musical band.
According to host Lili Estefan (Gloria’s niece), the video draws inspiration from some of Estefan’s favorite films (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Bird Cage).
“Hotel Nacional” enjoyed some time in the number one spot on the Billboard Dance Music Chart already, and is currently in fifth place.
At her “Hotel Nacional” video release party last week at Miami’s Score nightclub, Estefan thanked her gay fans for their support since day one.
“The gay community has been behind me 100%,” she said to a cheering crowd. “’Conga’ broke through in all the gay clubs before anybody else noticed it was a hot song. You guys have been close to heart and always will be.”
