At last week’s Premio Lo Nuestro 2012, Italian singer/songwriter Laura Pausini took the stage to perform her new single “Jamás Abandoné” for the first time on television.
Stunning in sequined gown designed by her compatriot Roberto Cavalli, the 37-year-old dedicated her moving performance to Whitney Houston, who was laid to rest on Saturday. “Jamás Abandoné” is off Pausini’s new album Inedito, out now. The singer, a longtime favorite in Latin America for her Spanish-language albums, took a two-year break from her hectic music career to return to her native Italy.
After her performance at Premio Lo Nuestro, Pausini spoke to Univision News about her break, the similarities between Italian and Latino cultures, and a small but intriguing detail on her dress.
