Education secretary touts higher ed, DREAM Act

What are the most challenging issues facing Latinos seeking a good education?
Education Secretary Arne Duncan addressed those issues in an interview with Univision. Appearing in San Antonio, Texas last month for a White House Latino community event on education, Duncan talked about the importance of higher education as well as the difficulties many middle- and low-income Latinos face in paying for it.
Whether it’s a four-year university , two-year community college, or a vocational school, Duncan said getting a higher education is a must in this job market.
“For all of our children, that has to be the goal,” he said.
Duncan also said the DREAM Act, which has been stalled for years in Congress, could give undocumented students to contribute to society in a greater way.
“I just think right now is a country, we are absolutely crazy on this issue,” Duncan said.
