What people are saying about SB 1070 SCOTUS ruling on social media

Social media erupts over Supreme Court’s Arizona’s SB 1070 ruling.

By CONZ PRETI

On Monday the Supreme Court struck down three of the four provisions of Arizona’s SB 1070 immigration law. The one provision which was left untouched is the “show me your papers,” which allows law enforcement to check immigration status on individuals stopped.

Immediately after the ruling social media was swamped, not only with the announcement made by the Supreme Court, but also questioning the decision of maintaining this last provision which could cause racial profiling.

Some of the most interesting reactions can be found on the Storify below, which we’ll be updating through the course of the day. Also, be sure to check out the Storify by Univision 33 in Phoenix which recaps the SB 1070 Supreme Court hearing back in April and reactions around it.
