Ryan Lochte’s winning Cuban diet: bistec, croquetas, and ropa vieja

Lochte’s Cuban mom/grandma know how to feed this champ right.

The chatter on Twitter all day Monday had to do with Team USA’s Ryan Lochte a.k.a. “Reezy” and his hotness. In fact, if you do a general search for all things #ryanlochte, I promise you won’t regret it — marriage proposals and animated GIFs in honor of the Olympic champ abound.
One of my fave tweets came from @Chippendales (yes, as in the renowned ladies’ entertainment company):

Lochte won a gold medal on Saturday in the men’s 400m individual medley and has been fighting to match that win since.
So what do Lochte’s Cuban mom Ileana and his adorable 91-year-old granny feed the 27-year-old swimmer and part-time sunglasses mogul that makes him look and perform like a champ?
A whole lot of bistec empanizado, apparently. In anĀ interview with NBC Latino, Ilena spoke proudly of her son from her home in Florida: “When he comes home, he has picadillo, he has ropa vieja, anything that he wants, my mother says ‘ok’ — croquetas…”
If he was my son/grandson, I’d spoil him, too!
Jeah!
