Our Univision Storm Chasers are ready for Hurricane Isaac in New Orleans (videos)

New Orleans locals dressed up and waiting for Isaac.

By CONZ PRETI

As we showed you yesterday, our news crew has been following Isaac’s route closely and is now waiting for the hurricane to arrive in New Orleans. Here are some of their updates and stay tuned for more.

Here’s cameraman Tony Alvarez, water ready in bathing suit and sporting Crocs.

Primer Impacto talked to some undocumented immigrants who fear getting deported if they flee New Orleans. As Arambarri says, they are stuck between escaping the hurricane and being caught by officials.

At 5am this morning, the crew bumped into some local residents who dressed up to receive the storm, which had not yet been updated to category one hurricane. They said Isaac won’t take away the spirit from New Orleans and before walking away asked everyone to stay safe.

Here Primer Impacto’s Ricardo Arambarri introduces our viewers to the crew behind cameras. They all have slept an hour or less, yet they are more than ready to record Isaac’s trajectory… Even after falling asleep with a burger in hand.
