Twitter tracker: In one corner Obama, in the other Romney

Our interactive graph below shows real-time Tweets per minute (TPM).

Americans have been using Twitter to voice their discontent or support towards the two presidential candidates. It is not for nothing that this upcoming election is considered the most social ever, with more developed platforms and better measurement of what is going on in them.
That is why we decided to create this Twitter tracker comparing Barack Obama and Mitt Romney which will be live in our Univision News Tumblr for the next two weeks, during the conventions.
The widget shows real-time the number of mentions the candidates are getting on Twitter — through @BarackObama and @MittRomney — a way of measuring their buzz. But it doesn’t stop there. Also we are tracking how many times their names are being tweeted without them necessarily being a mention or a hashtag.
Feel free to play around with the widget, checking out how much attention each candidate was getting earlier today, this past week or even the entire month.
