Juan Luis Guerra Scares Juanes & Other Latin Grammy Meme Moments
By NURIA NET
Here’s one chingón (bad-ass) moment courtesy of Carla Morrison and other silly moments from tonight’s Latin Grammys.
Carla Morrison says a variation of “chingar” on national TV
When accepting Best Alternative Music Album for “Déjenme Llorar.” (She also won another Latin Grammy for Best Alternative Song. VIVA MEXICO CHINGAO!
Juan Luis Guerra scares the ish out of Juanes
He won big for his MTV Unplugged (including Album of the Year and Best Long Form Music Video), so Juanes was walking on clouds all night. He thanked his friend and mentor Juan Luis (who won for Producer of the Year, for that very album) by tenderly looking for him in the audience. But Juan Luis the Giant was actually standing right behind him onstage, and scared the ish out of Juanes. LOL.
Ana Tijoux says “Yis and Yoy”
Instead of Jesse y Joy. The Chilean rapper had clearly never heard of the Mexican pop sibling duo, even though they were the night’s biggest winners, with a total of four awards - including Song of the Year for “Corre.” Thank you Fonseca for translating.
Daniela Romo and Sergio Dalma do “Yo no te pido la luna”
Daniela is back y’all. She beat cancer, and that’s a beautiful thing. Her performance tonight, however, was not. Sorry, just keeping it real…
